Margherita Vacchiano

Co-Leader of Transformative Action

Margherita Vacchiano serves as Co-Leader of Transformative Action at Be Present, Inc., sharing organizational leadership with Kelley Alexander under Be Present’s collaborative leadership model, and is a member of the Be Present Consulting Consortium. An organizational and human-resources strategist with deep experience across the public and private sectors, she specializes in whole-system transformation: building mission- and values-driven organizational cultures, developing leadership and executive capacity, and creating the conditions for equity, mutual accountability, and trust to lead innovative institutions forward.

She grounds scientific discipline and rigor and the Be Present Empowerment Model® in one integrated practice, examining how organizational systems function, what they produce, and building the systems and relational capacity organizations need as the nature of work continues to change. Her expertise spans organizational design, development, and culture; workforce equity and belonging; talent strategy and acquisition; and organizational development and executive leadership.

Margherita is founder and President of Civis Consulting, LLC. She has served as a senior strategic consultant to a range of foundations and organizations, as Director of Total Quality Management at the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, and as Director of Human Resources at the Northern Manhattan Perinatal Partnership. Margherita holds a Bachelor of Science in Languages and Linguistics from Georgetown University. She also holds credentials as a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®), and is a Birkman Certified Professional®.
